Apprenticeship
training consists of systematic instruction and experience in
all the practical aspects of work in a skilled vocation offered
to persons entering or who are currently in the work place.
Skilled Tradesmen Trade School Plumbing Apprenticeship Training
Program is certified by the Maryland Apprenticeship and Training
Council (MATC). The program consists of the following;
- On-the-Job Training
- Education Training in Plumbing
The On-the-Job (OTJ) training consists of 8000 hours working (4 years) with a
licensed master plumbing company. The apprentice is employed by a plumbing
company.
The educational training consists of 621 hours of classroom training. All
classes are taught by Master Plumbers. The Apprentice attends class two nights
per week. The classroom training is from six to eight months each level. There
are four levels over a four year period.

Eligibility
- Age: 17 (W/Guardian’s Signature); or 18
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Physical Condition: Ability to safely perform the job assigned
- Other: Valid Driver's License
